KONAMI Announces AS Monaco Joins eFootball.Pro eSports Competition

The Monégasque club joins the professional league, that also boasts FC Barcelona and FC Schalke 04 as competitors, after signing a licensing deal with KONAMI     
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. announced in conjunction with eFootball.Pro today that AS Monaco will join the eSports competition that the two companies are pioneering together. Known for competing in the top-flight Ligue 1, AS Monaco is the third club to join the first-ever international eSports league for football clubs only, following FC Barcelona in February 2018 and FC Schalke 04 last month.

As a club that has already established itself in the eSports arena, eFootball.Pro presents AS Monaco with a much larger opportunity to grow their presence in an increasingly popular type of sport:

AS Monaco (Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club) was founded in 1919 and plays in France’s top-tier division. Based at the iconic Stade Louis II in Fontvieille, AS Monaco is one of French football’s most successful clubs, winning eight league titles, six domestic cups, and are regular participants in European competitions.

AS Monaco will have a professional team in the eFootball.Pro competition, which will compete using the KONAMI’s football video game series. In this new league they will challenge FC Barcelona, FC Schalke 04 and other top-level clubs that will be unveiled soon.
